 Aquacade

Morning Afternoon Evening Night

On Friday afternoon, an event called Aquacade took place.  Scouts from each troop competed in events against opposing troops in a series of events.  The first event put six scouts from each troop in a rowboat without any oars and were expected to paddle two lengths of the dock to determine the winner.  The next event put the scouts in the water while pushing a rowboat containing an adult from their troop.  The plan was to push the rowboat to one end of the dock where the adult would pick up a cup filled with water.  The boat was then turned around for the second leg of the race back to the starting point while keeping the adult in the boat dry.  Unfortunately, all the contestants had trouble with the last objective and each adult fell into the water.  The scoutmasters competed in a "belly flop" competition by diving off a platform into the water face and belly first.  Watch the contestants and you be the judge as to who should be the winner.  The next event was a four man relay race wearing PFD's and a little race called "Empty the Ocean" which by it's name you can probably figure out what this entails  - think a race you might see on Survivor.  The longest event is was the four-leg relay. The legs consisted of canoes in leg one, kayak in leg two, swimming in leg three, and finishing with a foot race.  A sandcastle building contest was also part of the event.  Our troop did not participate in any of the events this year but were happy to watch the festivities while eating snow cones.
